The SOPAC website contains information and products relating to a variety of geodetic and geophysical data. A detailed explanation of SOPAC's mission is available. The major components of the SOPAC website are listed as large tabs at the top of all pages, and are described below. Beneath the tabs are popular links relating to the current section of the website. Several other links are available through the pulldown menu and search utilities at the top of all pages.
At the bottom of each page, links are available for the webmaster and to parent agency information. Website Components: Data Archive The SOPAC data archive contains much of the most-frequently requested content of the website. It contains links to various data browsers serving as the primary gateway to SOPAC's approximately 1 terabyte archive. These include a listing of continuous Global Positioning System (GPS) data available by site(s) and by date(s). Other links include data availability reports, archive usage, and GPS network site listings. You may also access the data archive via http. ALERT! Rinex files on the SOPAC archive have been converted to the Hatanaka format. More information, including instructions on how to obtain software to convert these 'd' files to RINEX format, is available here. Please note that the SOPAC archive is also available via ftp/http:
Processing SOPAC performs processing of the GPS data it archives. Popular products include site timeseries and processed site coordinates. You will also find important files for your own GPS processing, such as orbits, and links to other processing products here. Projects Various GPS-related projects are supported by SOPAC. Find out more about the California Spatial Reference Center, or the Plate Boundary Observatory. In particular, several utilities, pages and links are available for the Southern California Integrated GPS Network, an array of more than 200 continuously operating GPS sites supported by SOPAC, USGS-Pasadena, and JPL. Sites Several links and utilities are available here to obtain more information about the continuous GPS sites, and their parent arrays, archived at SOPAC. The SOPAC Site Information Manager can also be used to peruse site information. Maps of all continuous GPS arrays can be viewed via the Array Map Browser. Other Miscellaneous items about SOPAC can be found here, including SOPAC news and personnel working here. We hope your visit to the SOPAC website is an informative one.
