Instructions on how to use the XSD Schema Validator

Step 1)  Download the igsSitelog.xsd schema document and the XML-Based Site Log

              Document.

     

              a)  The igsSitelog.xsd schema document is part of the GPS Meta data

                   Schema Bundle.  Go to the XML for Geodesy home page 

                   (http://sopac.ucsd.edu/projects/xml/index.html) and click on the 

                   Download link to the right of the GPS Meta data Schema Bundle text.

                   Save the schema bundle to an appropriate directory and unzip the

                   the schema bundle.

              b)  Download an XML-Based Site Log Document by going to the

                   XML for Geodesy home page and clicking the Download link to the right of

                   the XML-Based Site Log text.  This will display the XML Site Log

                   Generator Tool.  Enter the four character site code of the site 

                   of your choice, such as "sio3", and then click the download button.

Step 2)  Click on the XML Schema Validator link to go to the XSD Validating

              page.

Step 3)  Load the Schema document and the XML document.

              a)  Schema Document - Click on the Browse button to the right of 

                   the schema document text field and go to the directory where 

                   GPS Meta data Schema Bundle was downloaded and unzipped.  Select

                   the igsSiteLog.xsd schema document.

             b)  NamespaceURI - It is not necessary to enter a value.  

             c)  XML Site Log Document - Click on the Browse button to the right  

                  of the XML document text field.  Go to the directory where the 

                  you downloaded the xml site log document and select it as input 

                  into the XML document text field.     

Step 4)  Click the Submit button. 

A valid XML document should result in the following message:

Validated OK!
